Welcome to the proteomics website established by the proteomics research community at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. This site features 2D-PAGE reference databases of several mammalian organs, cells, and biological fluids. These maps are being developed for studies of global protein expression in health and disease. Each reference database contains a digitized 2D gel image, and data on proteins identified in the 2D gel map. You can access the individual databases by following the instructions outlined below. Alternatively, you can search the databases by keywords, using the Search button on the top right of this page. For some samples we are also providing additional information regarding gene expression (transcriptome).

To enter the 2D-PAGE database of interest:

  1. Click on the Proteome Maps menu item (on the left of this page).
  2. Select a tissue or cell type by clicking on the corresponding name
  3. Select a 2D-PAGE reference map by clicking on the corresponding image; you can toggle between a raw (unmarked) image (with markings indicating identified spots).
  4. Click on a particular spot to retrieve protein identification information for that spot.

Please note that this site is a non-profit service for the scientific community. The information provided at this site is for research purposes only.
